Sustainable Mobility: Bike Repair Workshop w/ BICAS Tucson
Join the sustainable mobility movement! Watershed Management Group recently hosted a successful Bike Repair Workshop in partnership with Pima County's Clean Air Program and BICAS Tucson. Led by the talented Joselyn Aguilar of BICAS, participants learned essential bike maintenance skills like finding punctures, patching tubes, using tire levers, and properly inflating tires.
BICAS, short for Bicycle Inter-Community Art & Salvage, is a nonprofit dedicated to repairing, selling, and salvaging bikes for both use and art. They also offer classes and work-trade opportunities for those interested in expanding their bicycle knowledge and skills.

Eh, it looked a bit skinny to be a king. Cottonwoods tend to fall with age anyway because they are so shallowly rooted. Supposedly, they make great outhouse trees because they can withstand direct applications of excretions, if you know what I mean.

Is it really safe to place in garden after 4 months? Other videos have recommended 2 years.

Arundo produces no seeds. They spread through rhizomes . Poor land management leads the need to rid plants of that size and height.

Hi- are you monitoring Tanque Verde Creek flow? I'm curious when it starts running (on average) and when it stops (on average) every year. Also, at what location(s) do you monitor it? And do you know if anyone else has any data? I work with UA and I'm trying to get data thank you!

Thank you! We discovered cabuches while watching Master Chef México, &, since we live in southern AZ, we just HAD to find a recipe! Sadly, all the references I found were to the flower bud, & we don’t have buds in the winter/spring, we have fruit. So I was getting frustrated. Then, I found your video! We are definitely ooking forward to trying them!

Why would you introduce beaver to this spring-fed reach of the stream? These habitats are unique as evidenced by the amphibious plant species that do not grow elsewhere. Introduce the beaver miles below where the stream begins to vanish. That is where they will have the most benefit.

Thank you for caring about this River. I grew up in Continental ranch right next to this river played in it half my childhood. Only gambusia frogs turtles and such could ever survive because of the pollution, now I come back to see family, Walk back down to My beloved River, it's a big fish in there! The waters clean enough for big fish now! ❤🎉 Thank you to whoever is responsible. Now kids could go fishing this is amazing!! I would be down there building dams and habitat for the gambusia and frogs and stuff for years, I just had a fascination with water. And when I got out and saw it running upstream in town a little, I just couldn't believe it, The happiness I got from that made me tear. So thank you❤ it was like magic to me honestly, that little bit of water is going to do so much! Without those banks our houses would have flooded out for sure. Every few years you'll see the water fill that whole thing up. God bless everyone that has ever planted a tree!!! We need those so bad

Love the work, i can see all the thought behind the process. Moving forward, it would be great to have a "what happens when X pollutes the waterway. Im thinking about pollution, runoff, forever chemicals, or just even high amounts of waste that would contribute to a poorer ecosystem, and by default, everyone is worse off. My recommendation is to use as specific wording as possible with as many loopholes closed, or at least an EXTREMELY EASY process to change problems, because there will always be problems with the best plans. You are going to get sued into oblivion by the big chemical companies or developers who have different priorities, my recommendation is to give them space to do their thing with your requirements. For example, you can build this luxury condo building here but because its within 1 mile of the nearest creek you must sign this contract to support XYZ. I hope everyone working on the policy is working with scientists from biologists, chemists, physicists, city planners, engineers, etc to understand not only the 50-year impact but the 250-year impact. What future does Tuscon have with a plan like this? Does the plan account for population boom and busts, for redevelopment, for not only plant and animal diversity but insect diversity, for microcosmos diversity, for bacteria and fungus diversity in the ecosystem. You are gonna get shit on if you decide to go too conservative and you are gonna be ignored if its too ambitious, but the ambitious plans are the ones that will quietly make you a top-notch city. Good luck
